Competitive bids auction sells EUR 12.8 mln worth of Latvian govt securities

RIGA, Mar 18, BNS - The competitive bids auction on Wednesday sold nine million lats (EUR 12.8 mln) worth of Latvian government securities, reported NASDAQ OMX Riga stock exchange.
The competitive bids auction sold five million lats worth of T-bills maturing on Sept. 18, 2009, with the average weighted rate of 8.09 percent. Four bidders demanded those securities in the total amount of 7.4 million lats, but the State Treasury offered for sale T-bills worth five million lats.

The auction also sold four million lats worth of T-bills maturing on March 19, 2010, with the average weighted rate of 8.275 percent. Two bidders demanded those securities in the amount of six million lats, but the State Treasury offered for sale T-bills worth 15 million lats.
