RIGA, Apr 07, BNS - EU Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs would like to work at the Latvian Foreign Ministry after his current term in office expires.
"I think now that my best objective would be to try to return to the Foreign Ministry, I have always enjoyed working there. So I think that most probably I will look for a job at the Foreign Ministry," Piebalgs said in an interview with Latvian public radio on Tuesday.
The EU commissioner voiced satisfaction with his present job, as he has succeeded in completing a number of projects. "I believe I have been a very good commissioner as I have done some good things," Piebalgs said.
Piebalgs is due to stand down as EU energy commissioner in June as his term in office runs out. Earlier he did not rule out a possibility to get involved in politics in the future.
